Saying it has been a long time since he replied to the letters of Gregoire and Lesueur [i.e., Jean-François Le Sueur], asking if Gregoire will propose the tenor Fornato[?] Aprile (nephew of the famous [Giuseppe] Aprile) to Barili [i.e., Luigi Barilli?] for the [Opéra], recommending Aprile highly, sending greetings [i.e., congratulations?] to his colleague Sigr. Peer [i.e., Paer] for being named a corresponding member of the Società Reale dell'Accademia in Naples, asking Paer to let him know if Paisiello's opera [I] pittagorici has been submitted to His Majesty, mentioning his opera Gli gioche d'Agrigento, etc.
